The standard Vantage Pro 2 (6152) offers the professional weather observer and the serious weather enthusiast reliable performance and a wide range of options and sensors. The wireless Vantage Pro2 weather station includes as standard:
- integrated sensor suite
- mounting hardware
- AC-power adapter
The Vantage Pro 2 Plus (6153) model provides the following as standard over the standard Vantage Pro2 version:
- 24-hour fan-aspirated radiation shield
Please note: We can supply 6153UK to order if requested, but we do not recommend its use in the UK - winter sunlight levels are often too poor for reliable 24-hour fan aspiration and temperature response can be worse than with the passive shield. Adding the 7747 Daytime-only Fan accessory to a standard (non-fan) VP2 model is usually a better option for users who require daytime fan aspiration.
The Integrated sensor suite (ISS) includes a rain collector, temperature and humidity sensors, anemometer, and a 40' (12 m) anemometer cable. Temperature and humidity sensors are enclosed in the radiation shield. Transfer of data between the ISS and console is by wireless transmission. Power for ISS is by a built-in lithium battery supplemented by a small solar panel.
The 24-hour fan aspiration model achieves maximum accuracy of temperature and humidity readings by circulating the air.
Wireless range is up to 1000' (300 m) outdoors, line of sight. Typical range through walls under most conditions is 200' to 400' (60 to 120 m). Wireless repeaters can be added for distances up to 1.7 miles (2.7 km).
Among the parameters you can measure are wind speed & direction, air temperature & humidity, pressure, rainfall, and numerous derived readings such as wind chill, dew point etc. Full details of the parameter values and additional graphic and text elements that can be displayed on the The Vantage Pro 2 console are provided on the 'VP2 console display layout and functions' page at our Main Site.
Weatherlink data logger and software can be purchased separately to let you link a Davis weather station to a computer (Windows PC or Mac) and to be able to store, view and analyse all your weather data and to upload your latest data automatically to a website.
