6470 Temperature sensor is a multi-purpose temperature probe with 2.5" (64 mm)-long stainless steel housing, and includes a 15ft (4.6 m) direct-burial cable. It can be used to measure the temperature of air, soil or water.
The sensor is compatible with the Vantage Pro2. It must be connected via a 6345 Leaf & Soil Moisture/Temperature Station - up to 4 probles can be added to a single station. Note that for accurate measurements of unshaded air temperature require purchase of a separate radiation shield.
